The first edition of the global CONIA World Unity Athletics Games will be held in the late summer of 2019 or 2021, depending on the pre-existing event calendars of several candidate host cities that are currently under consideration. No location has been chosen yet, but several appropriate venues have been identified in Europe and elsewhere.
CONIA proposes to hold a selection of competitions from the standard list of athletic events at the Summer Olympics as follows:
- 100 metres | 200 metres | 400 metres
- 800 metres | 1,500 metres | 5,000 metres | 10.000 metres
- 4 x 100 metres relay| 4 x 400 metres relay
- 110 metres hurdles for men | 100 metres hurdles for women | 400 metres hurdles | 3,000 metres steeplechase
- Pole vault
- High jump
- Long jump | Triple jump
- Shot put
- Discus throw
- Hammer throw
- Javelin throw
The actual list is to be based on members’ delegations and preferences.
Additionally, members may propose indigenous sports demonstrations as part of the international recognition programme.
