CONIA UNITY ATHLETICS GAMES
The Unity Athletics Games is an international track & field championship with a twist.
For the first time in athletics history, athletes from cultural and ethnic minorities (e.g. Tibetans, Roma, Kurds, Amazonian tribes, etc.) will have the opportunity to compete in traditional track & field disciplines at the international level under their own flag.
However, the Unity Athletics Games is much more than an athletics meet. Expect indigenous sports demonstrations and mini-competitions, and engaging clinics for the little ones. Imagine pole vaulting in the city square, and hammer throws in the local park.
On top of exhilarating athletic performances is an extensive cultural programme. Picture interactive workshops on indigenous sports, talented dancers and musicians from around the world performing on a major stage, exhibitions of arts & crafts, fashion shows and, of course, a food festival with delicacies from all over the planet that will surprise and tantalise the senses.
The Unity Athletics Games is an opportunity to bring people together, to celebrate the human spirit and to foster the bonds of social harmony in a fun and festive atmosphere.
